President Obama predicted the GOP's repeal-and-replace face-plant months ago
Remember when Donald Trump promised he’d repeal Obamacare very, very quickly and replace it with “something terrific”?
Well, “something terrific” turned out to be more Obamacare.
Because seven years and change is apparently not enough time to come up with a coherent alternative to “the worst thing to happen to this country since slavery,” Obamacare repeal now appears as dead as Mitch McConnell’s black, bloodless knot of a heart.
Enjoy your schadenfreude. It’s okay. Just for today, though.
Who could have predicted this colossal clown-car pileup? Well, how about anyone who knew anything about health care? That includes our ex-president and conspicuously leaves out the witless liposuction sack who currently occupies the Oval Office.
Here was President Obama on January 6, clearly pointing out just how full of shit Donald Trump and GOP legislators are:
"If you can in fact put a plan together that is demonstrably better than what Obamacare is doing, I will publicly support repealing Obamacare and replacing it with your plan." ...
"What you’re gonna see now, now that you have a Republican president-elect and you have Republicans in control of both chambers of Congress, is that all the promises they made about how they can do it better, cheaper, everybody’s gonna be satisfied — are gonna be really hard to meet. … There are real lives at stake."
Imagine that. An elected official who thoroughly studied and fully grasped the complexities of our health care system thinks health care reform is hard.
Those were the days.
