If you can't tell Trump is an idiot, you shouldn't be in the FBI ... you know, investigating
Donald Trump’s stupidity and loathsomeness are on garish display every damn day, so why are Republicans suddenly questioning the fitness of two FBI employees — hired expressly for their shrewdness and discernment — who have inexplicably discovered these traits in our president?
If you were shopping at Home Depot and the person helping you said he thought Trump was brilliant, you’d dump your bag of mulch and holiday tin of tripartite caramel corn forthwith before driving to the Lowe’s two towns over. Why on earth would we trust FBI agents who are too dumb to see that Trump is a moron? That’s a flaw, not a virtue.
Appearing before the House Judiciary Committee today, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel, was forced to defend Mueller before a gaggle of admittedly shellshocked Repubs, who questioned the motives of two FBI employees who for some reason had dared to point out the obvious. Rosenstein appeared before the House Judiciary Committee one day after the Justice Department provided congressional committees with hundreds of text messages between an FBI counterintelligence agent assigned to Mueller’s team and an FBI lawyer who was on the same detail.

The disclosures of the text messages added to concerns among members of Congress that Mueller’s team is tainted by political bias.
Look, if anything, identifying Donald Trump as a stupid person should be part of the FBI entrance exam. If you get that one wrong, you shouldn’t be allowed to carry a safety scissors, much less a gun. Rex Tillerson knows he’s a moron. H.R. McMaster knows it. Congressional Republicans should stop pretending they don’t.
As for the “loathsome” part, well, you can check Trump’s Twitter feed any day of the week, or simply cite the expert opinion of Kellyanne Conway, who, shortly before morphing into Brundlefly, famously said, “[Trump] says he's for the little guy, but he's actually built a lot of his businesses on the backs of the little guy and he's [hurt] a lot of little guys through eminent domain, or through not paying contractors after you’ve built something. The little guys have suffered.”
Yes, they have. And that’s exactly why Mueller needs to complete his work — no matter how many competent agents he hires.
